My Review / Thoughts
“You can keep my heart. But I no longer want yours.” -If The Sun Never Sets
This second book was not as good at as the first one. Blake’s toxicity was so blatant in this book, but Farrah kept taking him back EACH time he broke his heart. She does not have an self respect. The whole book was Blake toying with Farrah until he decided for himself that she was the best it would get for him. He didn’t give her any space or choice to make decisions. People read to lose themselves. I can’t imagine anyone would want what happens in this book.
There was also a lot of smut. It took away from Blakes struggles with his dad and Farrah’s struggles with her her career.
This really differs from the first hero in the author’s Twisted Series. This hero also messed up, but after he does he doesn’t force her hand and waits almost a year to make a real move. Blake is extremely selfish with a guise of someone “just” trying to escape his past. Honestly my favorite part of the book was when Farrah slams the door in his face, even though that doesn’t last very long.
If you like books where the mmc is possessive to the point of toxicity then you will like this book.
This series should have stayed as the duet it was meant to be, instead of putting this honestly terribel fate on the side characters in the other books.
If you read the book and liked it let me know your thoughts!

Five years ago, he broke her heart. Now, he’ll do anything to win her back.
When Farrah walked into her lunch meeting, she didn’t expect to see him. Blake Ryan. Her first love. Her first heartbreak. And now, her first client as a freelance interior designer.
It’s been five years, but she’ll never forget the way he shattered her. He whispers pretty words, but she’ll never believe him. Her body craves his, but she’ll never give him her heart.
Not again. Not ever.

Money. Looks. A booming sports bar empire. On the surface, Blake has it all. But inside, he’s haunted—both by nightmares of a tragic loss, and dreams of the girl he once betrayed.
When fate reunites them, he sees it as a sign: It’s time to get the love of his life back.
No matter what it takes.
